The resulting "Tenderlean Cattle" being produced are composed of composite percentages of our unique foundation Angus and Belgian Blues.  The heart of our program is based on the production of composite percentages that include maternal, paternal, and terminal types for all of the possible combinations in the mating arena.  We believe in quality over quantity and therefore our controlled numbers reflect our seed-stock goals.

TOTAL LINEAR CLASSIFICATION - T.L.C. - is the system  we utilize to evaluate our herd for the carcass, efficiency, and maternal traits that we are proud to produce.  These three categories have a combined total of 20 traits that are each evaluated and given a value of from 1 to 10 and the individual score reflects a total score of a percentage of 100.  The values are further expressed as being super, ideal, good, average, and poor.  The unique quality of TOTAL LINEAR CLASSIFICATION is that the evaluated animal can be determined either maternal or terminal, regardless of breed or any other racial factor.  All evaluated cattle are on an equal footing through this system.

A bonus value for meat tenderness is determined through physical and skeletal evaluation of traits related to meat fiber and tenderness.  TOTAL LINEAR CLASSIFICATION is an enhanced version of an internationally recognized cattle evaluation system with an emphasis on meat tenderness.  All of this leads to a genetically predictable product that can be referred to as a FORK TENDER BEEF and a HEART HEALTHY food at the same time.

We are also proud to be part of ongoing research conducted by various universities into DNA Tenderness Markers that in time will give scientific credibility to this new breeding strategy.  We will keep you posted on the data as it becomes available.

To sum it up, our breeding program combines all of the genetically predictable traits covered above and we genuinely invite you to join us in this remarkable endeavor.  Please feel free to inquire about our program, we feel confident that our results will meet the requirements of any serious cattle breeder of today.
